Baantjer speelde zich af in Amsterdam – net als Van Speijk en Boks – terwijl Flikken Maastricht de Limburgse hoofdstad als decor had. Nu komt er een politieserie die zich afspeelt in Friesland. De Leeuwarder Courant meldt dat waarschijnlijk RTL 4 de serie primetime gaat uitzenden. Eerder was er al sprake van dat Jeroen van Koningsbrugge en Beau van Erven Dorens samen in een politieserie bij de zender zouden gaan acteren.
Maar RTL 4 is zeker niet de enige op zoek naar een nieuwe politieserie. Ook Nederland 3 zendercoördinator Roek Lips aast op een politieserie. En bij Veronica zijn er ook plannen voor een serie van eigen bodem.
De Friese politieserie wordt geproduceerd door Endemol (dat ook Baantjer maakte) terwijl Fryslan Marketing als sponsor is betrokken bij de serie. Die ziet het als een marketingmiddel om de regio te promoten. Dat kan natuurlijk bij de kijker ook verkeerd worden begrepen, dat Friesland een heel gewelddadige provincie is. Maar dat terzijde. De opnames beginnen na de zomer.
Overigens is het ook een risico om een regiogebonden sponsor op een serie te nemen. Wanneer Fryslan Marketing zich na één seizoen terugtrekt en de zender wel door wil met de reeks, kan dat wel eens heel lastig worden…
